ESTIMATOR - CIVIL CONSRUCTION

Spry Civil Construction is a well-established civil construction company with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality infrastructure, subdivision, earthworks and road construction projects within the Murraylands region of South Australia.

An opportunity has become available for an experienced Civil Construction Estimator to join our team. This is a key role that will see you working closely with our management team to prepare competitive quotes & tenders and contribute to the continues success and growth of the company.

About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for a range of civil construction projects. You will play a key role in identifying opportunities, managing the tender process and supporting the successful delivery of projects from concept through to handover.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Prepare accurate estimates and tender submissions for civil construction projects.

·         Prepare quantity calculations and cost analysis.

·         Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.

·         Develop pricing schedules, tender clarifications and supporting documentation.

·         Assess project risks, opportunities and value engineering options.

·         Liaise with project managers, supervisors, clients, consultants and suppliers throughout the tender process.

·         Maintain estimating records, supplier pricing and historical cost information.

·         Assist with project handovers to the operations team following successful tenders.

·         Monitor market trends, material pricing and industry developments.

About You

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys preparing competitive, accurate tenders while working closely with management, suppliers and clients to help secure future projects.

If you are a detail-oriented estimator with excellent commercial awareness and the ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously. You enjoy working collaboratively while maintaining a high level of accuracy under deadlines.

You will ideally have:

·         Previous estimating experience within the civil construction industry

·         Strong knowledge of earthworks, roads, drainage, subdivisions and infrastructure projects.

·         Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.

·         Excellent numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.

·         Strong negotiation and communication skills.

·         High level of computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and estimating software.

·         Understanding of Australian Standards, contracts and construction practices.

·         Current driver's licence.

·         Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.

·         Knowledge of local government and Department for Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) tendering processes.
