Are you looking to build a hands-on career in fitting and machining?
Score is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Fitter & Machinist to join our Production team in Gladstone.
This is an exciting opportunity to learn from experienced tradespeople while completing your apprenticeship and TAFE studies. You’ll gain practical experience working with industrial valves and equipment, developing valuable skills in mechanical fitting, machining, pressure testing, repair and maintenance.
We’re looking for someone who is keen to learn, reliable and ready to get stuck in.
Full-time, Monday to Friday | Workshop hours: 7:00am–4:00pm

What You'll Learn & Do
As an Apprentice Fitter & Machinist, you’ll learn how to:
Take apart, repair and rebuild industrial valves and equipment
Pressure and function test valves
Safely use a range of hand and power tools
Find and help fix mechanical problems
Follow job instructions and quality procedures
Complete basic job and quality records
Take part in toolbox talks and safety activities
Keep the workshop clean, safe and organised
Work with experienced tradespeople as part of a team
Develop practical skills and experience for your future career
What We're Looking For
No experience? No problem! If you're keen to learn and start a career in the mechanical trade, we'd love to hear from you.
We're looking for someone who:
Is hands-on and mechanically minded
Has a genuine interest in becoming a qualified technician
Is keen to learn new skills and gain practical experience
Is reliable, motivated and has a good work ethic
Can follow instructions and is willing to learn from experienced tradespeople
Enjoys working as part of a team
Has good communication and time management skills
Takes pride in their work and keeps their work area clean and safe
Has a positive attitude towards safety and quality
Is willing to attend TAFE and complete the apprenticeship
Has passed English and Mathematics at school or equivalent
Is willing to comply with our Drug & Alcohol Policy
A Queensland Certificate of Education or equivalent is preferred, but not essential.
