Warehouse Manager

Reporting to the State Manager, the Warehouse Manager runs the daily operations of our Coburg warehouse; which includes stock management, carpet cutting, receipt and dispatch of goods, and the care of plant and equipment.

You will lead a team of six, including delivery drivers. You will be the person who makes sure that orders go out in full and on time, the warehouse is safe and orderly and the paperwork and systems keep pace with the work.

It is a practical and varied role with real ownership. One moment you are working cuts from a plan, the next you are coordinating a just-in-time delivery with a site supervisor, raising purchase orders, or running a toolbox talk. You will partner closely with site, project administrators and suppliers, and you will have the autonomy to improve how the warehouse runs. Success looks like a safe team, accurate stock and deliveries the site can rely on.

You will lead the day-to-day operations of Embelton's Coburg warehouse, managing a tight-knit team that keeps flooring product moving accurately and on time to sites across Victoria. This is a hands-on leadership role for an organised operator who takes pride in a safe well-run warehouse and wants the stability of a respected, century old business.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, train and schedule to motivate the warehouse team and delivery drivers

• Own daily warehouse operations, upkeep and the trade counter.

• Champion safety, enforce the traffic management plan, daily equipment checks and a positive safety culture.

• Manage receipting, picking, dispatch and just-in-time delivery of goods to sites and customers.

• Supervise carpet cutting and prepare cut sheets and dispatch documentation from plans.

• Manage inventory in ERP system (Pronto), including stocktakes and accurate stock records.

• Manage fleet vehicles, support supplier negotiation, and maintain strong supplier relationships.

• Liaise with Estimators, Project Administrators and Site Supervisors on timing, deliveries and check measures.

• Continuously improve warehouse procedures and systems.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role you will possess the following:

• A current forklift license

• At least 5 years experience leading and managing people

• A solid background in warehousing and logistics operations

• Sound WHS/OHS knowledge for a warehouse environment

• Experience with an ERP/inventory system (Pronto or similar) and good computer skills including Excel

• Strong organisation, prioritisation, problem solving and attention to detail

• Clear communication and the ability to read a scale plan

• Flooring, carpet or vinyl industry experience, a truck license, first aid or WHS certificate are all advantageous.
