Disability Support Worker - Tumut Area

We have an exciting opportunity for a reliable Support Worker with a “can do” attitude to provide Personal Care and Domestic Support in a private home.

About you:

You are a mature minded, reliable individual with a positive personality, ideally with experience in disability and in supporting individuals within their home or in a similar setting.

You are flexible and can work in group environment as part of a team.

You have good work ethic and understand the importance of providing care with dignity and respect.

You are self-motivated, calm, and looking to make an invaluable positive impact on the lives of others.

About the Role:

You will be working closely with me in my own home and in the community, providing care and supports which include:

• Personal care

• Domestic assistance in daily living duties

• Manual handling- using hoist

• Medication and Skin management.

• Assistance with mobility needs, home exercise program and use of exercise equipment.

• Transportation to appointments using my own vehicle

• Confidence travelling on regional roads with the ability to drive up to 3 hrs each way on a regular basis.

Shifts currently on offer include but are not limited to:

Day Shifts:

• Tuesday 8:30am-2:30pm

• Thursday 9:00am-5:00pm

• Friday 8:30am-2:30pm

Weekends:

• Saturday and Sunday 9:00am-11:30am

Flexibility for additional support during holidays and trips away, including sleepovers.

Full training will be provided if required.  

Essential

·         Police Check

·         You must have the right to live and work in Australia.

·         Must have a driver's license 

·         Good communication (written and verbal)

·         Local to area (desirable)

Preferred Qualifications

·         First Aid certificate

·         Cert III Disability or Aged Care 

·         Manual Handling
