About the role

Educators are a respected position within the service with the responsibility to contribute towards providing stimulating, caring and happy environments for children to support positive outcomes under the National Quality Framework, Regulations and National Quality Standards. This is an initial full time float position with opportunities to move into permanent room assignment.

Key responsibilities

• Support the room senior educator in the development and delivery of the learning program as per the Early Years Learning Framework and service philosophy

• Welcome each child and their family to the service each day and ensure communication is meaningful

• Establish relationships and develop positive interactions with children, families, and educators

• Give each child individual attention and comfort as required

• Ensure children are supervised at all times including during routine times such as nappy change, toileting, sleeping/resting, mealtimes and both indoor and outdoor play

• Be actively involved in regular head counts and confirming children in attendance with visual checks of faces and recording on rolls and other documentation throughout the day

• Ensure all children are protected from harm and hazard, set up learning environments safely, including relevant fall zones and surfacing for climbing equipment

• Respond to children's play ideas and play and use intentional teaching to extend their learning

• Communicate children's play ideas and interest with the lead educators to include in programs and extensions

• Set up environments so that they are safe, interesting and appealing to children

About you

• Relevant Cert III Qualification (Approved by ACECQA) or be actively working towards this qualification as per the definition in Regulation 10 of the Education and Care Services Regulation

• Current First Aid Certificate (approved by ACECQA)

• Current CPR Certificate (approved by ACECQA)

• Current Anaphylaxis Training (approved by ACECQA)

• Current Emergency Asthma Management Training (approved by ACECQA)

• Current Working with Children Check as required under legislation

• Foundations of child safety training

• National police check

• Commitment to maintaining current knowledge and attend additional training as necessary

• Commitment to on-going learning and development as a professional under the Code of Ethics
