About the role
Reporting directly to the Claims Assessment Manager, this permanent role will be responsible for ensuring that all claims are promptly assessed in line with the terms and conditions of the relevant insurance contract.
Key responsibilities
Managing Group and Retail life insurance claims portfolios across a range of claim types
Assessing claims in line with policy terms, regulatory requirements and service standards
Responding to claim reviews and participating in discussions on complex cases
Liaising with internal and external stakeholders throughout the claims assessment process
Contributing to projects, process improvements and ongoing business initiatives
Supporting strong risk management, compliance and governance practices
Maintaining business processes and documentation
Collaborating across claims, medical and operational teams to deliver positive customer outcomes
About you
At least 3 years' technical knowledge of direct and/or group life insurance
Experience applying insurance legislation and regulatory requirements, including LICOP and RG271
Advanced Excel skills
Experience using AI-enabled tools in a regulated environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
Clear written and verbal communication skills
The ability to work independently and collaboratively
Professional integrity, sound judgement and a commitment to confidentiality
ANZIIF and/or ALUCA qualifications (desirable)
Unrestricted permanent rights to work in Australia (Australian citizenship or permanent residency only)
