Senior Project Manager - Commercial Construction

NOW Energy is partnering with a well-established and growing commercial construction builder delivering projects across the retail, education, hospitality, service station and commercial sectors.

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured and upcoming projects, we are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join their Sydney team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accomplished construction professional with strong Principal Contractor experience who can take ownership of projects from pre-construction and procurement through delivery, handover and close-out.

The Role As Senior Project Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the successful delivery of projects, ensuring safety, quality, programme, commercial and client objectives are achieved.

Working closely with the construction, commercial and site teams, you will lead project delivery while managing subcontractors, consultants, clients and other key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead commercial construction projects from pre-construction through to completion and handover
• Develop and manage project programmes, budgets and delivery strategies
• Lead and coordinate Project Managers, Contract Administrators, Site Managers and project teams
• Oversee subcontractor procurement, engagement and performance
• Maintain responsibility for project financial and commercial performance
• Manage budgets, forecasting, variations and cash flow
• Identify and proactively manage construction and commercial risks
• Build and maintain strong client and consultant relationships
• Coordinate design, procurement and construction activities
• Drive project programmes and key delivery milestones
• Maintain high standards of WHS, quality and compliance
• Lead project, client and subcontractor meetings
• Monitor project reporting, cost forecasts and programme performance
• Manage contractual matters in conjunction with the commercial team
• Ensure successful practical completion, handover and project close-out

About You We are looking for an experienced construction professional who can demonstrate:

• Significant experience as a Project Manager / Senior Project Manager within commercial construction
• Strong experience working for a Principal Contractor
• Proven delivery of commercial construction projects from commencement through to completion
• Experience across retail, education, hospitality, refurbishment and commercial fit-out highly regarded
• Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial management
• Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets, programmes and subcontractors
• Strong leadership and team-management capability
• Excellent client and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to identify project issues early and implement practical solutions
• Strong communication, negotiation and organisational skills
• A proven focus on safety, quality, programme and commercial outcomes
