Project Manager – Mining Equipment

Role Overview:

The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of mining equipment from its arrival at the site, through assembly, delivery to the customer, and ongoing maintenance and repair during and after the warranty period. This role also ensures customers receive the necessary training for equipment operation. The position requires strong project management, technical, and customer service skills to ensure smooth operations and excellent service to the client.

Key Responsibilities:

• Pre-delivery coordination with OEM factories:

  • Schedule and coordinate the development progress, service condition preparation progress, and manual writing progress.

  • Identify required resources and assess risks to ensure the achievement of key milestones.

• Equipment Assembly Management:

  • Coordinate the efficient assembly of mining equipment upon arrival at our facility or the site, ensuring adherence to manufacturer specifications and safety standards.

  • Supervise and manage assembly teams, ensuring work is completed on time and within budget.

• Delivery Coordination:

  • Plan and manage the safe and timely delivery of assembled equipment to the customer, coordinating logistics and transportation to meet client deadlines.

  • Ensure proper handover of the equipment to the customer, including technical demonstrations and documentation of the operational process.

• Training Organization:

  • Coordinate resources from various channels, including internal teams, external vendors, and technical experts, to provide customers with the necessary training on equipment operation, maintenance, and safety.

  • Ensure training materials and sessions meet customer needs and comply with technical requirements.

• Warranty Support & Maintenance:

  • Oversee maintenance and repair activities during the warranty period, ensuring all issues are addressed promptly and equipment downtime is minimized.

  • Coordinate with maintenance teams and technical experts to diagnose and resolve any equipment issues reported by the customer.

  • Ensure all repairs and maintenance work comply with warranty terms and conditions.

• Customer Relationship Management:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the assembly, delivery, training, and warranty period, addressing any concerns or inquiries.

  • Ensure customer satisfaction by providing regular updates and transparent communication on equipment performance and support activities.

• Supplier & Vendor Coordination:

  • Work with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely availability of parts and services required for equipment assembly, maintenance, and repair.

  • Negotiate service contracts and manage vendor relationships to support project success.

• Project Reporting & Documentation:

  • Prepare detailed project reports on assembly progress, delivery status, warranty claims, and maintenance activities for internal and customer reference.

  • Maintain accurate records of all warranty repairs, training sessions, and service reports.

Qualifications:

• Education:

  • Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, or a related field is preferred.

• Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in equipment assembly, project management, or after-sales support in the mining or heavy industry sectors.

  • Specific experience with mining equipment projects is essential, with priority to candidates demonstrated expertise in mining equipment project management experience.

  • Experience managing customer-facing projects and after-sales services.

• Skills:

  • Strong project management and organizational skills with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Technical knowledge of mining or heavy equipment assembly, maintenance, and repair processes.

  • Advanced expertise in mining equipment systems is required to effectively manage complex assembly, maintenance, and repair processes.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong customer relationships.

  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.

  • Proficiency with project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, SAP).

• Australian permanent residency or citizenship is required for this position.
