Sheet Metal Fabricator / Welder – Stainless Steel & Aluminium

Marko Stainless & Aluminium is seeking a highly motivated and experienced tradesperson to join our energetic and growing team.

We are an established Newcastle-based fabrication business specialising in high-quality stainless steel and aluminium products for commercial kitchens, schools, healthcare facilities, construction projects and residential applications.

This is a full-time position offering varied and interesting work across both workshop fabrication and onsite installation. The work varies regularly, with projects ranging from custom stainless steel benches and sinks to school art, wash and drinking troughs, as well as general fabrication, occasional handrails and architectural metalwork.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your responsibilities will include:

• Fabricating stainless steel and aluminium products from plans and shop drawings.
• TIG welding, MIG welding desirable but not essential.
• Cutting, folding, grinding, polishing and finishing.
• Producing accurate, high-quality custom fabrication work.
• Installing completed products on commercial construction sites.
• Working independently and as part of a close-knit team.
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
• Communicating with supervisors, builders and other trades when required.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for someone who:

• Is trade qualified or has strong relevant fabrication experience.
• Has experience fabricating stainless steel, aluminium experience is not essential.
• Is confident with TIG welding and stainless steel finishing.
• Can accurately read and interpret plans and shop drawings.
• Takes pride in producing neat, high-quality work.
• Has strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Is reliable, organised and able to manage their time effectively.
• Has a positive attitude and works well within a team.
• Is willing to assist with onsite installation work when required.
• Holds a current Australian driver’s licence.
• Holds, or is willing to obtain, a White Card.

Experience in commercial kitchen benches, architectural metalwork or custom sheet metal fabrication would be highly regarded.
