Catering Assistant

This role is located at our lovely Guildford Village residential aged care facility in Guildford. Our Kitchen Hand plays a crucial role in assisting the Chef, Cook and other kitchen staff with the preparation and serving of all meals, to help with facilitating a fantastic hospitality experience for our residents.

• Washing and cleaning utensils and dishes that are returned to the kitchen and ensuring that they are stored appropriately
• Handling, sorting, storing and distributing food items.
• Washing, peeling, chopping and cooking food stuffs and helping to prepare salads, sandwiches and desserts.
• Cleaning food preparation equipment, floors and other kitchen tools or areas.

Our ideal candidates will have previous experience working within residential facilities and be familiar with the various standards and procedures that are consistent within the aged care sector. They will have an understanding of the health and safety requirements associated with working with food within a healthcare environment and pay strict attention to detail as they work. They will also be able to work independently or as part of a small team, and will be happy taking direction from the Cook or Hospitality Manager. Our ideal candidates are passionate about what they do and enjoy playing a key role in the day-to-day lives of the residents at the facility.
