Operations Manager – Rope Access & Building Services

About the role

This is a hands-on operational leadership role working closely with the Director and field teams. You will be responsible for coordinating jobs from approval through to completion, managing employees and subcontractors, communicating with clients, allocating labour and resources, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and profitably.

Key responsibilities

• Managing the day-to-day operations of the business
• Scheduling and coordinating multiple field teams across Melbourne
• Allocating labour, vehicles, equipment and materials
• Managing employees, subcontractors and site supervisors
• Reviewing upcoming works and ensuring teams are properly prepared
• Coordinating access requirements, permits, inductions and site documentation
• Maintaining strong communication with clients, building managers and contractors
• Monitoring job progress, productivity and labour costs
• Identifying operational issues before they impact projects
• Ensuring completed works are properly documented, including photos and job reports

About you

• Previous experience in an Operations Manager, Project Manager, Construction Manager, Service Manager or similar role
• Experience managing multiple crews and projects simultaneously
• Strong scheduling and organisational skills
• Experience within construction, building maintenance, facilities, façade, access or trade services
• Strong leadership and people-management skills
• Good commercial awareness and understanding of labour productivity and job costs
• Excellent communication skills
• The ability to deal professionally with clients while also managing field teams
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure
• A current Australian driver's licence
