Next Step is a unique early intervention program providing psychological support to children experiencing mental health challenges. Inspired by the UK’s Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) model, the program delivers disorder-specific, evidence-based Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) to improve outcomes for children and their families.

As demand for the program continues to grow, we’re looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated clinician to join our team and be part of this exciting initiative. This opportunity is available on a full-time or part-time basis, offering flexibility to suit your experience and circumstances.

The Role

As a Mental Health Child Clinician, you will play an important role in supporting children and young people through evidence-based psychological interventions. Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering individual and group therapeutic interventions to children and young people using the IAPT-informed CBT framework.
• Managing a clinical caseload, ensuring timely, high-quality and evidence-based care.
• Participating in individual and group supervision.
• Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to achieve positive outcomes for children, young people and their families.
• Maintaining high standards of clinical practice, documentation and ethical care.

About You

We’re looking for a passionate and capable clinician who brings:

• Full registration with AHPRA as a Psychologist (General or Clinical).
• Experience working in the mental health sector, with individuals across the lifespan.
• A strong commitment to delivering evidence-based psychological interventions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong time management, organisation and clinical documentation skills.
• A sensitive, impartial and respectful approach when supporting clients and families experiencing stress or challenging circumstances.
• A current driver’s licence.
• A current ACT Working with Vulnerable People Card.
