About the role
Reporting to the Civil Works Coordinator, you will be part of a multi-skilled crew responsible for the construction and maintenance of Council roads, footpaths, drainage and related civil infrastructure.
You will work across projects including:
Road and drainage construction
Kerb and gutter and concrete works
Footpaths and streetscapes
General civil maintenance activities
About you
North Burnett Regional Council is seeking a motivated and skilled Plant Operator (Civil Works) to join our Construction & Maintenance team in Monto. This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of civil infrastructure projects while contributing to the delivery of safe, reliable roads and community assets across the region. The position suits applicants with hands-on civil construction and labouring experience who enjoy working as part of a team.
To be successful in this role you will have:
Current unrestricted ‘HR’ or ‘HC’ class driver’s licence.
Possess a Work Safe in the Construction Industry Induction Certificate (White Card).
Relevant plant operator competencies (RII)
Ability to work in a physically demanding and often noisy environment.
Strong commitment to safety
Key responsibilities
Operate a range of civil construction plant and equipment safely and competently
Carry out labouring duties including traffic control, concrete works, kerb and gutter and drainage
Maintain plant, tools, depots and work sites in a clean and safe condition
Complete basic records and job reporting
Follow all WHS procedures and actively contribute to a safe workplace
Participate in training and skill development
