About the Role
Reporting directly to the Branch Manager, this pivotal position plays a critical role in driving our branch's success. As our Operations Supervisor, you will lead daily operations, manage inventory, allocate resources and support a tight-knit team to maintain an efficient workflow and ensure quality control. Above all, you will be a true champion for an uncompromised safety culture, ensuring everyone goes home safe at the end of the day.
Key Responsibilities
Safety First: Implement, promote, and enforce strict safety protocols to maintain a secure, compliant, and healthy working environment.
Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor yard and transport personnel, assigning daily duties and ensuring tasks meet company standards.
People Development: Provide active coaching, mentoring, training, and support to your team, fostering their long-term professional development.
Inventory & Asset Control: Oversee equipment inventory management and maintenance to ensure accurate stock allocation for incoming jobs.
Continuous Improvement: Identify and roll out process improvements to optimise daily branch efficiency and workflow.
What We're Looking For
You are a resilient hands-on leader who knows how to motivate a team to achieve their best while keeping operational efficiency and safety at the forefront.
With strong organisational skills and a solutions-oriented mindset, you thrive in a fast-paced environment and can quickly pivot to meet changing customer demands.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
2–3 years’ experience successfully leading, managing or supervising an operations, transport and/or yard team.
Proven leadership capabilities with a natural ability to engage, coach, and inspire team members.
Exceptional planning skills, with a track record of successfully managing tight schedules and shifting deadlines.
A proactive, professional approach centred around delivering excellent service to both internal teams and external customers.
Monitor delivery schedules and proactively manage delays or operational issues.
Maintain regular communication with drivers, customers, and internal stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with Chain of Responsibility (CoR), NHVR regulations, and company policies.
An LF forklift license (or a strong willingness to obtain one quickly).
