Business Development/Recruitment Consultant

HB Group is Toowoomba’s largest and busiest locally owned recruitment, human resources and business services agency. Established in 1992, we have been providing recruitment and workforce solutions across Toowoomba, the Darling Downs and South East Queensland for more than 30 years. We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Business Development Officer / Recruitment Consultant to join our team on a full-time basis.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, winning new business and making things happen, while also having the opportunity to manage recruitment assignments and work with candidates across a predominantly blue-collar portfolio.

The Role

This is a varied business development and 360 recruitment role where you will play a key role in identifying new business opportunities, developing client relationships and growing our blue-collar recruitment and labour hire portfolio.

Working alongside our experienced team, your responsibilities will include:

• Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities across the Toowoomba and surrounding regions
• Developing and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with new and existing clients
• Conducting client visits, business development meetings and regular relationship-building activities
• Understanding client workforce requirements and providing tailored recruitment solutions
• Managing recruitment assignments from taking the job brief through to candidate placement
• Recruiting predominantly for blue-collar, labour hire and operational roles
• Advertising vacancies and actively sourcing suitable candidates
• Screening, interviewing and shortlisting candidates
• Conducting reference checks and assisting with candidate onboarding
• Working collaboratively with the HB Group team to achieve business and recruitment targets

About You

We are looking for someone who is driven, personable and commercially minded, with the confidence to pick up the phone, meet clients and build relationships.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience in business development, sales, recruitment or account management
• Experience within recruitment, labour hire or a blue-collar environment would be highly regarded
• A proven ability to develop new business and convert opportunities into clients
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• The confidence and ability to build strong relationships with people at all levels
• A proactive, self-motivated and results-driven approach
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• A strong work ethic and a genuine desire to succeed
• A current driver's licence

Most importantly, you will be someone who enjoys people, business development and the challenge of growing a successful portfolio.
