Your Role as Team Leader
As Team Leader Development Compliance, you will be at the forefront of ensuring our development services meet the highest standards of regulatory compliance. You will lead a dedicated team, navigating the political nuances of local council governance and applying your deep understanding of the regulatory landscape to protect community interests.
Your responsibilities will include:
Monitoring compliance with development consents and investigating breachesPromoting education and awareness to empower the communityCollaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparencyDriving innovation and service improvements that reflect Council’s strategic goals
This is a leadership role that demands resilience, strategic thinking and a genuine passion for compliance. Your ability to manage people effectively and influence outcomes will be key to your success.
Who We Are Looking For
We’re seeking a confident and capable leader who thrives in complex regulatory environments and is ready to make a lasting impact. You will bring:
Tertiary qualifications in Building Surveying, Town Planning, Government Statutory Investigation/Enforcement, or a related fieldProven experience in development compliance and a strong grasp of relevant legislationExceptional interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skillsDemonstrated ability to lead and manage multi-disciplinary teamsA proactive, customer-focused mindset and commitment to continuous improvementPolitical awareness and the ability to navigate sensitive issues with professionalism and tact

In addition an award vehicle allowance of $10,780 gross p.a will be paid.Hours of work: Permanent Full Time. You will have the option of a 19 day month through Council’s flex systemTo benefit your wellbeing you will have access to fitness passport, employee assistance program, annual flu shots, health and wellbeing programme and novated lease options.
Suitable candidates are subject to pre-employment screening which includes Reference Checks, Work Rights Verification, Identity and Functional/Medical History Checks, and will also include a Criminal History, Qualification and Working with Children Check. Employment is subject to clearance of all these checks.
