Venue Manager - Alameda Wine Bar

New Spanish-Inspired Restaurant | Albert Park
$85,000–$90,000 + Super | Full-Time

Valarc Group is looking for an experienced Venue Manager to lead Alameda, our new Spanish-inspired restaurant opening in the heart of Albert Park in late November.

Alameda will be a lively, energetic neighbourhood restaurant trading lunch and dinner, seven days a week. The style of service will be warm, personable and fun, while maintaining the detail, professionalism and sophistication expected of a casual fine-dining restaurant.

You’ll be joining Alameda with a strong management structure already taking shape, including a highly capable Assistant Venue Manager and Bar Manager, as well as the support of the wider Valarc Group team.

As Venue Manager, you’ll have overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation and culture of the restaurant, including:

• Leading a FOH team across lunch and dinner services

• Establishing and maintaining exceptional service standards

• Recruiting, onboarding and training the opening team

• Developing staff and building a positive, high-performing workplace culture

• Managing rosters and maintaining appropriate wage costs

• Overseeing stock management, ordering and stocktakes

• Working closely with the kitchen, bar and senior management teams

• Maintaining strong operational systems and procedures

• Managing and understanding POS, reservation and booking systems

• Monitoring venue performance and working with the wider Valarc Group management team

• Building relationships with regulars and becoming part of the local Albert Park community

We’re looking for someone who is confident, personable and genuinely enjoys being on the restaurant floor.

You must have:

• Minimum 3 years' experience as a Venue Manager

• Previous experience within casual fine dining

• Strong knowledge of European dining and service, with Spanish restaurant experience or knowledge highly regarded

• Experience recruiting, training and developing hospitality teams

• Strong understanding of rostering and wage cost management

• Experience with stock control, ordering and stocktake processes

• Good working knowledge of POS interfaces and restaurant booking systems

• Excellent communication and organisational skills

• The ability to lead a busy restaurant while maintaining attention to detail

• A friendly, approachable and energetic management style

• Availability to work weekends

• Full Australian working rights for a minimum of 12 months

Alameda is being created as a fun, energetic and sophisticated Spanish-inspired restaurant in the heart of Albert Park.

We want it to feel equally suited to a long lunch, an early drink and a few plates at the bar, or a full dinner with friends. Service will be polished and knowledgeable without losing the warmth, personality and energy that makes a great neighbourhood restaurant.

For the Venue Manager, this is an opportunity to help shape the culture of a new restaurant from the beginning, while having the support and infrastructure of an established hospitality group behind you.

$85,000–$90,000 + superannuation, depending on experience.

You’ll be joining Valarc Group and working alongside an established wider management team, with opportunities for continued development and progression within the group.
