At the Brotherhood of St. Laurence (BSL), we're seeking an experienced Employee Relations Case Manager to join our People, Culture and Engagement team and help create positive workplace outcomes across a diverse and purpose-driven organisation.

As BSL embarks on a new phase following an organisational restructure, we are transforming the way we support our people and operate our Human Resources function. Location: Fitzroy, VIC
Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time
Base salary: $100,000 per annum plus $13,000 vehicle allowance, 12% superannuation and generous salary packaging benefits

About the role

Reporting to the Workplace Relations Lead, you will provide expert advice and support on complex employee and industrial relations matters across the organisation.

Working closely with leaders and People, Culture & Engagement colleagues, you will help navigate challenging people issues, support fair and consistent workplace outcomes, and contribute to strengthening organisational capability and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage complex employee relations matters, including conduct, performance and grievance issues.
• Lead workplace investigations and prepare clear, well reasoned findings and recommendations.
• Provide practical, risk based advice to leaders and People, Culture & Engagement stakeholders.
• Support the management of external claims, disputes and regulatory matters.
• Ensure compliance with employment legislation, industrial instruments and organisational policies.
• Identify trends and emerging issues to inform proactive people initiatives and build leadership capability.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of workplace relations practices, policies and processes.

About you

You are an experienced Employee Relations professional who thrives in complex environments and is skilled at navigating sensitive workplace matters. Combining strong technical knowledge with sound judgement, you build trusted relationships, provide practical advice and support positive outcomes for employees, leaders and the organisation.

You'll Bring

• Demonstrated experience managing complex employee relations matters, including performance, conduct and grievance issues.
• Strong investigation, interviewing and report writing skills, with the ability to assess information objectively and make well reasoned recommendations.
• Sound knowledge of Australian employment legislation, industrial relations frameworks and contemporary workplace practices.
• Strong analytical thinking, judgement and problem solving capability.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and build credibility at all levels.
• A commitment to delivering fair, consistent and people centred outcomes.

A tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Employment Relations, Law or a related discipline is essential.
