Youth Justice Advanced Case Manager - North West Metro

• Multiple full-time roles based in the North West Metro Area earning $97,429 to $109,593 per year, plus superannuation
• Support vulnerable young people in the community through skilled and thoughtful case management, backed by a strong leadership team
• Help promote opportunities for accountability and rehabilitation that contributes to the reduction of crime in the community

As youth justice advanced case manager, you will supervise and coordinate services for high-risk young people with complex needs on court orders.

The role requires high standards of case management practice, with particular experience in effectively coordinating the delivery of rehabilitative interventions for young people with complex needs at high risk of offending in the community.

The North West Metro Area encompasses offices in Reservoir, Broadmeadows, Sunshine and Werribee. Some travel may be required in this position. This recruitment may be used to fill future ongoing or fixed term vacancies.

You will:

• Lead day-to-day statutory supervision and case management of young people with complex needs
• Support clients by providing holistic support to increase young people's opportunities of enhanced quality of life and community inclusion
• Implement and review client service plans, programs and services
• Liaise with agencies such as courts, policy, mental health services and other internal and external stakeholders
• Prepare clear and accurate reports, briefs and correspondence and maintenance of prescribed registers
• Implement strategies that address offending behaviour and encourage young people to comply with statutory orders

You should hold a relevant qualification in social work, youth work, psychology, human services, criminology or criminal justice. Demonstrated case management work experience in a related field is also desirable. You will also need a full driver's licence and maintain a current Working with Children Check.

You should also have:

• Strong understanding of case management and case work principles, including the application of assessment frameworks and interventions tailored to the needs of young people.
• Knowledge and understanding of the youth justice system, including the principles and philosophy underpinning relevant legislation, polices and guidelines
• Sound understanding of court practices and procedures.
• strong written and verbal communication skills for report writing and interacting with stakeholders

Stage 2: Video interview (15 minutes) – you will be asked to record video response to some questions that will help us understand your background, motivations and initial fit with youth justice.

Stage 3: Assessment centre (90 minutes) - This will involve a case study and panel behavioural interview.

Stage 4: Application mandatory checks – Should you progress past the assessment centre, you will be required to provide two referee details and are required to provide a copy of your current Employee Working with Children Check card. You will also be required to complete Security Checks which include a National Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC) and an Australian Entitlement to Work Check via Fit2work.
