Senior Finance Officer

Role Accountabilities:

Financial Accounting

• Perform month-end and year-end close procedures, including preparing journals, reconciliations and financial reports.
• Prepare and reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances.
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and financial records.
• Assist with the preparation of monthly management reports, budgets and forecasts.
• Prepare cash flow reports and financial analysis as required.

Accounts Payable and Receivable

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Prepare supplier payment runs.
• Reconcile supplier and customer ledgers.
• Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up where required.

Payroll

• Act as payroll back up by processing payroll and related adjustments as required to ensure accurate and timely payroll delivery
• Prepare payroll reconciliations and ensure compliance with PAYG, superannuation, payroll tax and relevant legislation.
• Assist with payroll matters relating to Enterprise Bargaining Agreements (EBAs).

Taxation and Compliance

• Assist with BAS, Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) returns and other statutory returns.
• Assist with preparing audit working papers and liaising with external auditors.

Fixed Assets

• Maintain the fixed asset register.
• Process capital additions, disposals and depreciation.
• Reconcile the fixed asset register to the general ledger.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify and implement improvements to finance processes and internal controls.
• Assist with finance system enhancements and process automation.
• Support finance-related projects and other duties as required.

2IC Responsibilities

• Provide support to the Finance Manager across all finance functions.
• Act for the Finance Manager during periods of leave or absence.
• Assist with resolving day-to-day finance issues and ensuring continuity of operations.
• Provide guidance and support to other finance team members when required.
• Other financial duties as required.
