Role Description: 3 Month Casual Trial > Full time

You'll start off in a flexible, casual, on-site role for a Sweeper Operator, located in metropolitan Adelaide, South Australia. The role will be tailored to you, with full time and beyond hours available (including nightshift) or a smaller roster if preferred. Once you've passed a trial period of 3 months you'll have the option to move to full time if that's what you want, or you can remain a casual if you prefer. You will be responsible for operating sweeping machinery to maintain streets, parking lots, and other areas. Daily tasks will include sweeping debris, inspecting and maintaining machinery, adhering to safety guidelines, and reporting any maintenance or safety issues. The role requires a strong commitment to cleanliness and operational efficiency.

Typical Workday

A typical workday begins early, with a pre-start inspection at our yard near Parafield Bunnings to make sure your truck is working effectively and safely, before travelling to site. Onsite you will generally attend a pre-start meeting where the days objectives will be outlined by the site managers and you'll be directed to where they need you. From there you'll get stuck in, and the day will move quickly. No two days will be the same and you'll have the opportunity to eat lunch and take your breaks in a different spot as often as you want. At the end of the day you'll sometimes get to enjoy one of the strangest parts of the role: getting paid to sit in bumper to bumper traffic. The south road crawl hits different when you're on the clock!

Browning Contractors Operator Qualifications

To operate well with our team you'll need to demonstrate the following experience and qualifications, but if you don't have them all I still encourage you to apply - you only need a truck licence and a can-do attitude to start with, our training program will provide you with the rest.

• Valid heavy vehicle driver's license and reliable transportation

• Experience in operating sweeping machinery or similar equipment

• Current South Australian White Card or willingness to obtain

• Basic knowledge of mechanical maintenance principles

• Ability to follow safety protocols and guidelines

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness

• Excellent time management and organizational skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy objects (hoses, man-hole cover lifting equipment etc)
