Through aquatics, learn-to-swim, health and fitness, indoor sports and community recreation, the Centre will create opportunities for everyone to participate, belong and thrive.

As part of our foundation team, you'll have the unique opportunity to help establish the Centre's culture, programs and customer experience from day one, guided by BlueFit's proven operating systems and commitment to excellence.

As a Duty Manager, you are the operational anchor of AARC during your shift. Working closely with venue management, you will take full ownership of site safety, pool plant operations, shift team supervision, emergency response, and overall facility presentation across both wet and dry areas.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

• Pre-Opening Readiness: Assist in setting up shift protocols, opening/closing procedures, pool plant commissioning, and emergency response plans ahead of our grand opening.

• On-Shift Operational Leadership: Supervise daily venue operations from the floor—coordinating lifeguards, customer service staff, and café crew to maintain seamless service and team energy.

• Site Safety & Incident Response: Serve as the primary point of contact for emergency management, first aid incidents, and pool supervision standards, enforcing a proactive zero-harm safety culture.

• Facility & Water Quality Supervision: Monitor pool chemistry, conduct water quality tests, assist with basic plant room checks, and ensure facilities are clean, hygienic, and inspection-ready at all times.

• Customer & Escalation Management: Manage customer enquiries, handle on-shift feedback with empathy, and ensure a warm, positive environment for all members and visitors.

• Leisure Operations Experience: 2+ years of experience in a duty management, supervisory, or senior lifeguard role within an aquatic, recreation, or multi-purpose leisure facility.

• Technical & Safety Mindset: Strong understanding of aquatic safety standards, pool plant maintenance, Emergency Action Plans (EAPs), and WHS regulations.

• Leadership & Problem-Solving: Approachable, confident leadership style with the ability to manage shift dynamics, coach casual staff, and make swift operational decisions under pressure.

• Essential Requirements:

  • Pool Lifeguard Award (Current)

  • Pool Operations / Plant Operator Certificate (or willing to obtain)

  • HLTAID009 – Provide CPR & HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid

  • Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
