About the role
The City of Canning are looking for enthusiastic Customer Service Assistants to join our vibrant team at the Riverton and Cannington Leisureplexes! Providing front-desk customer service, this is a fantastic opportunity to be a part of a local council that promotes health, wellness, and fun for all community members!
A snapshot of your new role:
Greet and welcome visitors with a warm and friendly demeanour
Assist customers in person, over the phone and online with enquiries, membership sign-ups, centre bookings, and Swimming and Leisure course enrolments
Provide accurate information on leisure centre programs, services and membership options
Process payments and maintain financial transactions with accuracy and efficiency
Ensure the cleanliness of the customer service zones
A bit more about the opportunity:
You must be available for a minimum of two (2) shifts per week across Cannington and Riverton Leisureplexes. This includes:
Opening Shift 5:15am start
Day Shift 8am - 5pm
Mid-day Shift 9:30am – 3:30pm
Closing Shift 8:45pm finish
Weekend Shift 6:45am - 6:00pm
Sunday Women’s Only Cannington 8:45pm finish
Shifts are between 3-6 hours in duration and other shifts are available according to operational needs

Who we’re looking for:
Naturally great with people and a genuine desire to provide exceptional customer service!
You’re committed to teamwork and helping each other, especially during busy times/peak periods
Customer Service, Cash Handling and Point-of-Sale experience is essential
Experience within a leisure or recreation centre is highly advantageous
Experience with debt collection, direct debit and web payments desirable
You’re a great multi-tasker and able to handle multiple things at once
Current satisfactory National Police Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
