Procurement Manager

This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading retail and distribution organisation as a Procurement Manager, driving strategic sourcing, supplier management and commercial outcomes across a significant indirect spend portfolio. Offered initially as a 6-month contract, the role presents a strong likelihood of a further 6-month extension for the successful candidate.
Reporting to the Head of Indirect Procurement, you will play a critical role in delivering sourcing initiatives, leading supplier negotiations and influencing procurement decisions across a broad range of business-critical categories. Operating within a collaborative team of three, you will combine commercial strategy with hands-on execution to deliver measurable savings, strengthen supplier performance and support ongoing procurement transformation.
This is a highly visible role suited to someone who enjoys stakeholder engagement, navigating complexity and creating tangible business value in a fast-paced environment.
What you’ll be doingLead strategic sourcing initiatives across a diverse indirect procurement portfolio.Develop and execute category strategies that deliver commercial value and long-term business outcomes.Manage supplier negotiations, contract management and supplier consolidation projects.Identify and deliver procurement savings and benefits across key spend categories.Utilise spend analytics, market intelligence and supplier insights to support decision-making.Build strong supplier relationships and drive performance improvements.Partner with senior stakeholders across operational, commercial and executive leadership teams.Support procurement governance, compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.Contribute to procurement maturity uplift and transformation programs across the business.Act as a trusted procurement advisor, balancing commercial, operational and risk considerations.
What we’re looking for7-10+ years' procurement in strategic sourcing and category management experience.Strong experience across indirect procurement categories such as logistics, transport, facilities management, MRO or corporate services.Proven success leading strategic sourcing programs and commercial negotiations.Demonstrated contract management and supplier relationship management expertise.Ability to identify and deliver measurable procurement savings and business improvements.Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence at senior leadership level.Experience operating within complex, multi-site or supply chain-focused environments.A proactive and hands-on approach with strong commercial judgement and problem-solving capability.
