Community Education Facilitator – Mandurah

About the role
We are seeking an experienced parenting educator to join our Mandurah team of groupwork facilitators. This role involves facilitating psychoeducational workshops and courses for parents, caregivers and young people. The successful candidate will have relevant tertiary qualifications, professional and lived experience, and the confidence to deliver in-person and online courses for clients during the day and in the evening.
You will have demonstrated experience engaging, liaising and interacting with a broad range of course participant as the role requires effective and engaging group facilitation, both online and in person, as well as networking with internal and external stakeholders to promote Relationships Australia WA Community Education services. You will also contribute to a positive team environment and support the Community Education Manager and Lead to meet service contract deliverables and provide an excellent learning experience for course participants.
Skills, experience, and qualifications
A relevant tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, counselling, education, public health, community development or a similar field is essential.
At least 12 months experience in groupwork facilitation, delivering psychoeducation workshops and courses to adults and young people
Experience facilitating small groups (5-18 people) in person and online, with availability to deliver workshops during the day and in the evening.
Demonstrated facilitation skills and ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support community engagement and service promotion.
Ability to develop workshops that meet the learning needs of diverse community groups.
Strong teamwork, communication and organisational skills, with a positive work ethic and high attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Sound competence using Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, and delivering online workshops or courses via Teams and/or Zoom.
Cultural competency and an understanding of issues affecting vulnerable communities.
