About the Role
AIFE is seeking an experienced and academic leader to join the organisation as Head of EAP and Humanities Discipline.
Reporting to the Dean of Academic Language and Pathway College, this role provides strategic leadership for the humanities discipline programs and English for Academic Purposes (EAP) curriculum across all AIFE branches. The position is responsible for driving curriculum excellence, supporting academic quality, and ensuring alignment with institutional objectives, accreditation requirements and partner university expectations.
Working closely with academic teams across Australia and China, the successful candidate will lead curriculum innovation, support faculty capability development, oversee quality assurance processes, and contribute to the continued growth and success of AIFE's academic programs.
Key Responsibilities:
This role is responsible for the leadership, development and continuous improvement of EAP and humanities curriculum delivery across AIFE's global operations.
Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of EAP curriculum frameworks, teaching methodologies and learning resources
Oversee the review and development of humanities discipline courses, ensuring alignment with academic standards and learning outcomes
Drive innovation in teaching practices and the effective use of educational technologies
Provide leadership, mentoring and professional development support to curriculum specialists, coordinators and academic staff
Monitor academic quality through program reviews, teaching observations, data analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
Collaborate with branch leaders and partner stakeholders to ensure consistent, high-quality program delivery across all locations
Support student success through the development of academic support initiatives and resolution of complex academic matters
Ensure compliance with accreditation requirements, regulatory standards and institutional quality frameworks
What you bring:
PhD in Education or a related discipline
Minimum 10 years' teaching experience within higher education
Demonstrated experience in academic leadership, curriculum development and program management
Strong understanding of accreditation, quality assurance and academic governance requirements
Experience leading and developing academic teams across multiple locations
Knowledge of Chinese and international education systems and regulatory environments
Exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement and leadership skills
Advanced proficiency with learning management systems, educational technologies and Microsoft 365
Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced and globally connected environment
