Parkerville Therapeutic Education Services
About the role
Some teachers change a classroom. This one changes a life.
Parkerville Grove School is a new CARE school supporting young people in Years 7–10 whose experience of trauma has significantly disrupted their education. For many of these young people, the right teacher at the right time can be the turning point in their story.
Why Join Us?
At Parkerville Grove, every role is connected to our mission of creating a safe, nurturing, and trauma-informed learning environment for young people.
As part of our team, you will undertake specialist trauma-informed professional learning that will deepen your understanding of the students at the heart of everything we do. You will work alongside Youth Workers in the classroom and collaborate with a multidisciplinary wellbeing team to develop individual learning and wellbeing plans tailored to each young person.
This is an opportunity to teach differently. You'll have the flexibility to teach across a range of learning areas, build meaningful relationships with students, and bring creativity, curiosity, and compassion to a school designed around the needs of its learners.
We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who understands the impact of trauma, thrives in a collaborative environment, and believes in the power of education to change a young person's future.
You will be a qualified teacher who enjoys thinking creatively, values strong relationships, and is committed to helping every student experience success—both in and beyond the classroom.
What's Next?
Registered to teach Years 7–10? We'd love to hear from you.
A passionate upper primary teacher looking for a new challenge? We'd love to hear from you too.
Please submit your resume and cover letter.
Applications close on Monday 17th August. We will review applications as they are received and may commence interviews before the closing date, so we encourage you to apply as soon as possible.
Parkerville Therapeutic Education Services is committed to building a diverse, inclusive and culturally safe workplace. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and strongly encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to apply.
The successful applicant will be required to hold a current Working with Children Check, National Police Clearance, and Department of Communities 395 Check.
Previous applicants need not apply.
