Seeking a Primary Art Specialist Teacher
The Primary Art Specialist Teacher is a valued member of the Academic Staff, contributing significantly to the intellectual, social, emotional and personal development of students. Through engaging and purposeful Visual Arts learning experiences, the role supports the School’s commitment to holistic education, creativity, student wellbeing and the development of character.
This is a part-time (0.4 FTE), 12-month fixed-term contract, commencing January 2027.
What You Will Do
The Primary Art Specialist Teacher is a key member of our academic community. Working collaboratively with colleagues across year levels and specialist areas, you will create engaging and inspiring learning experiences that encourage creativity, artistic skill development and student voice. In This Role You Will
Deliver engaging and purposeful Visual Arts learning experiences aligned with the primary curriculumFoster creativity, imagination and self-expression through a range of artistic mediums and techniquesCreate a positive, inclusive and inspiring learning environment where all students can thriveEncourage students to develop confidence, resilience and a growth mindset through the creative processAssess, monitor and provide meaningful feedback on student learning and artistic developmentContribute to exhibitions, displays and celebrations that showcase student work and achievementWork collaboratively with colleagues to support student learning, wellbeing and character developmentEngage in reflective practice, professional learning and continuous improvement

You are a passionate and creative educator who believes that the Arts play a vital role in developing confident, curious and capable young people. You Have The Necessary Experience, Knowledge And Skills To
Teach effectively in a primary school context, holding relevant teaching qualificationsDemonstrate success in delivering Visual Arts programs to primary-aged studentsDesign engaging and inclusive learning experiences that inspire creativity and artistic expressionApply well-developed interpersonal and communication skills when working with students, colleagues and familiesUphold a strong commitment to child safety and inclusive practice, supported by a current VIT registrationBring a collaborative approach, high professional standards and a commitment to character educationEmbrace continuous learning, personal growth and the development of others
