We are looking for an authentic, pragmatic, and proactive Safety, Health & Wellbeing Lead to partner directly with our ALH Hotels operational teams across North Queensland. Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role:

Reporting to the Safety, Health & Wellbeing Manager – Hotels & Services, you will serve as a trusted operational and advisory partner across our North Queensland venue network. Your core focus will be preventing accidents, supporting statutory compliance, and embedding our Safety, Health & Wellbeing Strategy on the ground.

Working autonomously while remaining deeply connected to venue operations, you will travel across sites to coach venue leaders, conduct inspections, manage root-cause investigations, and advocate for holistic wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with ALH Venue Managers, Area Managers, and operational teams to integrate health, safety, and wellbeing into daily hotel operations.
• Conduct Category 1 & 2 root-cause investigations (ICAM), assist with Category 3 & 4 reviews, address dangerous occurrences, and implement controls to prevent recurrence.
• Champion physical and mental wellness initiatives across North Queensland venues, driving a holistic approach to team member health.
• Support the Endeavour Group Safety Management System, assist with self-insurance audits, oversee regulatory compliance, and liaise with WorkSafe and external regulators.
• Analyze venue incident trends to build targeted risk assessments, safety alerts, work instructions, and continuous improvement projects.
• Complete safety inspections for new venue openings, coach onboarding teams, and deliver interactive WHS training programs.

Qualifications

We are seeking a curious, resilient, and collaborative safety partner who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment. You bring strong critical thinking skills and the ability to balance statutory requirements with practical operational needs.

Essential Criteria:

• Minimum Certificate IV in Workplace Health & Safety (Diploma preferred).
• ICAM Certification and a current, valid driver’s license.
• Strong WHS background with a solid understanding of hospitality and/or retail operational fundamentals.
• Deep understanding of the WHS Act, Regulations, Codes of Practice, and hazard management principles.
• Proven track record in root-cause investigation, data-driven planning, group facilitation, project execution, and stakeholder management.
• Flexibility to undertake regular intrastate travel across North QLD and occasional interstate travel.

Desirable Criteria:

• Knowledge of Return to Work / Injury Management and recovery processes.
