About the Opportunity

Here’s your chance to join the team at Scotchmans Hill, one of Australia’s leading wineries on the stunning Bellarine Peninsula. We’re seeking a Sous Chef on a fulltime basis to work alongside our Head Chef — this is a fulltime position with no nights giving a work life balance.

What We’re Looking For

• A minimum of 5 years in the industry, preferably with experience in fine dining or quality restaurant environments

• Minimum level of chef De partie

• A strong work ethic and eye for detail

• The ability to replicate our food and processes without deviation and with absolute consistency as per the chefs wishes

• Strong on larder, pans and grill sections

• Remain calm under pressure

• Able to lead service when required, communicate effectively with kitchen and floor staff

• A positive and respectful attitude

• Above all, a love of cooking great produce driven cuisine and a passion for the industry

This role will suit somebody looking to take the next step in their career along the path to learning and mastering kitchen management as a Sous Chef, or equally somebody who is already well versed in the role of Sous Chef, is content to work within the boundaries set and to assist the Head Chef to realise his vision as we continue to evolve.
