About the role

We are seeking a full stack Software Engineer to join the team embarking on a full rebuild of our system with a contemporary tech stack. Someone who is willing to learn the business, understand our existing codebase, then build something amazing.

Success in this role will see you building and bringing to life our new platform, supporting existing web applications, producing high quality, reusable and efficient code based on the direction and guidance of the business. 

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test software applications using industry-standard programming languages and frameworks

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust and scalable solutions for clients

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code that adheres to established coding standards and best practices

• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members to ensure code quality and knowledge sharing

• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and performance issues in a timely manner

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and tools

• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to enhance technical capabilities

• Collaborate on architectural decisions and contribute to the design of scalable, efficient software systems
  

What we're looking for

• 3+ years of experience developing and shipping web applications.

• Proven experience in software development with proficiency in one or more programming languages such as C#, ASP.Net Core, Web API / Minimal APIs, React and Typescript

• Strong understanding of software development principles, design patterns, and object-oriented programming, including SOLID and clean architecture.

• Adept with version control systems such as Git and branching workflows

• Strong SQL skills with the ability to write and troubleshoot complex queries and understand indexing and query plans

• REST API design experience, ideally contract first using OpenAPI with generated clients or DTOs using tools such as NSwag

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking skills

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment

• Knowledge of software testing practices and quality assurance processes

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
  

Bonus points if you also have

• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. Azure) and/or microservices architectures

• Fundamental knowledge of secure coding processes, application security and security protocols.

• Experience with CQRS, event driven and event sourcing design with frameworks such as MediatR, Wolverine and Marten

• CI/CD pipelines, particularly GitHub Actions.

• Docker and container based local development.

• Kubernetes (AKS), Terraform, Argo CD, and GitOps based deployment.

• Microservices and distributed system based on domain driven design and vertical slice architecture.
