About Us
Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission.
Collectively, Victoria's Supreme, County, Magistrates', Children's, and Coroners courts, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Judicial College of Victoria, the Judicial Commission of Victoria, and Court Services Victoria (CSV) are referred to as the ‘Courts Group'.
Our people enable the Courts Group to deliver on each jurisdiction's own strategic priorities while also pursuing strategic opportunities that are interconnected and deliver benefits more broadly.
CCV
The County Court (‘the Court'), is Victoria's principal trial court. Its purpose is to hear and determine matters in a fair, timely, efficient and accessible way. The Court sits between the Supreme and Magistrates' Courts in Victoria's court hierarchy and operates independently from executive government.
The Court hears a diverse range of criminal and civil matters, including almost all criminal offending with 90 per cent of jury trials being held in the Court. The Court hears matters in Melbourne and in 12 regional locations across Victoria.
The Court has 74 permanent judges, up to 10 engaged reserve judges and seven judicial registrars supported by 335 staff. The Court's judicial officers and staff deal with 11,500 matters annually.
The Court is committed to the principles of Court Excellence as outlined in the International Framework for Court Excellence and is focused on improving timeliness, expanding early dispute resolution, modernising technology and strengthening organisational capability.
About the Role
The Executive Director Operations is a member of the Court's Executive Leadership Team and is responsible for strategic leadership and oversight of the Court's criminal and civil registries and the Court's law reform and policy team.
You will provide authoritative strategic advice to the Chief Judge and CEO on issues facing Court operations and service delivery through the development and implementation of strategic frameworks to strengthen organisational performance and support for evidence-based decision making.
Leading service delivery improvements, implementation of legislative change, the development of demand-based funding bids, performance improvements and strategic stakeholder engagement activities will be key responsibilities ensuring long term effectiveness and sustainability of the Court.
You will need to execute exceptional stakeholder management skills to build trusted partnerships and influence senior stakeholders within a complex operating environment.

Qualifications
