What The Day Will Look Like

At Aon, we're looking for a technically minded insurance professional who enjoys diving deep into policy wording, understanding coverage intent and helping shape market-leading insurance products.

This is a role for someone who is naturally curious.

Someone Who Wants To Know

Why was that clause drafted that way?What happens if a claim falls into this coverage gap?How can we improve this wording?Is this endorsement helping or restricting cover?Can we build something better for our clients?

You'll be part of a specialist team responsible for supporting insurance products across multiple classes and industries. Every week is different. One day you may be comparing ISR policies. The next, drafting endorsements, reviewing insurer feedback, developing training materials or helping launch a new product.

You'll collaborate with some of Aon's most experienced technical specialists while building expertise that few insurance professionals ever develop.

We're looking for someone who is intellectually curious, enjoys technical problem-solving, and has a genuine interest in understanding how insurance policies are constructed, interpreted and applied.

You may come from a range of insurance backgrounds, including:

General Insurance BrokingUnderwritingClaimsLegal or Insurance LawProduct DevelopmentTechnical ServicesCompliance and Governance

Success in this role looks like

You are the person people come to when they need help understanding a clause.

You enjoy reading policy wordings instead of avoiding them.

You can identify a coverage issue before it becomes a client issue.

You appreciate detail, enjoy solving technical problems and take pride in producing high-quality work.

A claims background may be particularly well suited to this role

If you've spent time handling claims, you've likely developed many of the skills that are critical to success as a Technical Executive.

For Example, You May Have Experience

Interpreting policy wordings and coverage provisionsAssessing whether a claim falls within the insuring clauseAnalysing exclusions, conditions and endorsementsIdentifying coverage gaps and unintended consequencesNegotiating coverage positions with insurers, brokers and clientsExplaining complex policy responses in practical termsUnderstanding how policy wording performs when tested by a real claim

Many of the best policy wording specialists start their careers in claims because they understand not only what a policy says, but also how it operates in practice when things go wrong.
