Details: CIT Trade Skills is seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and professional educator to fill the role of Educator Level 2 - Vocational Leader within the CIT Trades Skills College, Building Management & Drafting Department.
This position provides an exciting opportunity for an experienced VET professional to work collaboratively with the Head of Department to provide educational leadership, support student success, mentor educators, and contribute to the delivery of high quality training programs that meet industry and community needs.
The successful applicant will bring strong vocational education and training (VET) knowledge, contemporary industry expertise, and a commitment to delivering positive learner outcomes.
What will you do?
Reporting to the Head of Department, you will:

• Provide leadership and guidance to students regarding training progression, learning pathways, completion, and achievement of qualifications.
• Mentor and support educators to enhance teaching practice, assessment quality, student engagement, and educational outcomes.
• Coordinate and lead Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) processes, including the development and maintenance of RPL tools and resources.
• Support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of training and assessment resources aligned with training package requirements and industry standards.
• Maintain compliance with the VET Quality Framework, the 2025 Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), ACT User Choice requirements, and CIT policies and procedures.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with industry, employers, regulatory bodies, students and other stakeholders.
• Collaborate with CIT student support services to ensure students receive the support required to achieve successful outcomes.
• Contribute to planning and innovation activities that support workforce development and future training opportunities.
• Teach as directed in accordance with the ACTPS CIT Educators Enterprise Agreement.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:

Mandatory Qualifications

Refer to the ACTPS CIT Educators Enterprise Agreement 2023-2026.

All new employees engaged at the Educator Level 2 classification with VET responsibilities must:

• Hold a Training and Assessment Certificate IV qualification (TAE40116, TAE40122 or equivalent).
• Hold a Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (or equivalent).
• Complete a criminal history check prior to employment.

Industry Experience
In accordance with sub-Clause M10.10 of the ACTPS CIT Educators Enterprise Agreement 2023-2026, applicants must possess:

• Relevant industry experience and vocational qualifications equal to those being taught, or as specified in the relevant training package or accredited curriculum requirements.
• Demonstrated experience in vocational education and training.
• Experience within the building and construction industry, building management, construction supervision, drafting, or related disciplines is highly desirable.

Highly Regarded

• Leadership or supervisory experience.
• Experience with training package implementation and compliance.
• Experience supporting apprentices, trainees and diverse learner cohorts.
• Strong digital literacy skills and experience using learning management systems.
