Alice Springs Town Council
About the role
Alice Springs Town Council is an organisation shaping the future of this iconic central Australian town. With over 200 team members across our sites, we offer meaningful career opportunities, competitive benefits, and the chance to make a real impact in a vibrant and culturally rich environment. Guided by our purpose — “Together for Alice” — we are working toward a brighter, more prosperous and connected future for our community.
Our values are at the heart of everything we do. We take ownership of our impact, lead by example, embrace all voices, work together as one, and continuously raise the standard — creating a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing organisation dedicated to delivering meaningful outcomes for Alice Springs.
What We Are Looking For:
Are you an organised, people-focused professional who enjoys variety in your day and making a positive impact in the community? We are looking for a proactive Ranger Administration Officer to join the Alice Springs Town Council Ranger Unit. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a team that plays an important role in animal management, local laws, and community services. You'll be the friendly first point of contact for customer enquiries, manage registrations, permits and records, support the Animal Shelter, and help keep essential Ranger Unit operations running smoothly. If you have strong administrative skills, excellent customer service, attention to detail, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we'd love to hear from you. Qualifications in administration or business are beneficial, but your positive attitude, commitment to teamwork, and dedication to delivering great service are what matter most.
This is a 6-month fixed-term maternity cover position, with the potential for extension.
Applications are invited and will be considered until the position is successfully filled.
You will bring proven administration experience, strong computer skills, and a customer-focused approach to support the day-to-day operations of the Ranger Unit. You are highly organised, able to manage competing priorities, and confident using Microsoft Office and other software applications to maintain accurate records and process administrative tasks. With excellent verbal and written communication skills, you can interact professionally with a wide range of stakeholders, including handling challenging customer enquiries with empathy and professionalism. You have the ability to interpret legislation, policies, and procedures, exercise sound judgement, maintain confidentiality, and work effectively as part of a collaborative team in a busy and fast-paced environment.
Must have : National Police Clearance
Please note: A current National Police Clearance, issued within the last six (6) months, is an essential requirement for this position.
Enquiries: For questions relating to the position, application process or the status of your application, please contact the People & Culture Team at ***************@astc.nt.gov.au.
