Outdoor Recreation (Camp Activities) Instructor

About us

We are a Christian faith-based venue not-for-profit organisation that caters to the needs of schools, churches, youth groups, disability services, and other community-based groups. We operate several venues across NSW that specialise in outdoor adventure activities. We are looking for a proactive Outdoor Recreation Instructor.

Positions

As we head into busy season, there are positions at our Blue Mountains, Central Coast, and Hawkesbury sites available as both casual and permanent staff members at some sites.

 Qualifications & experience

• The ideal candidate will most likely work in a similar role. Alternatively, you may have a more general background in outdoor activity group facilitation or other relevant experience, which means you possess the skills and attributes to succeed in this role.

• Preferred Cert III/IV in Outdoor Education/Leadership or equivalent; we offer internal training for staff without qualifications.

• A NSW Working with Children Check and willingness to complete Safe Ministry Training.

• Ability to work under the CCC Camps “Statement of Faith.”

• Experience facilitating groups 

Tasks & responsibilities

1. Run CCC Camps Adventure Activities

   • Running activities on site with campers of all ages, with the most common guests being school-aged children and youth.

   • Help all guests reach goals by providing new challenges and supporting them in achieving them. 

   • Set up and pack down activities each day 

   • Activities include but are not limited to Water Activities (Canoeing and Snorkelling), Rope Activities (Giant Swing and Leap of Faith), and Adventure Activities (Archery and Bushcooking).

2. Complete CCC Camps Training  

   • Complete training in all CCC camps' SOPs for a range of activities, including roped, water, and challenge-based activities. 

   • To be trained by CCC Camps Staff on procedures, risk management and activities.

3. Clear, confident, and warm verbal communication with an approachable and welcoming personality

   • Initiative and a motivated self-starter

   • Ability to relate to school children of all ages and abilities
