Social Support Group / Day Centre Personal Care Assistant (PCA)

Our Day Centre is currently seeking a compassionate, motivated, and experienced Social Support Group PCA to join our dedicated aged care team on a part-time basis, working Wednesdays between 8:30am and 4:00pm.

About the Role

As a key member of our Social Support Group team, reporting to our Day Centre Coordinator, you will:

• Provide meaningful care and social support to our clients.
• Facilitate group activities and assist with transport (including driving a 12-seater bus when required).
• Document client interactions and services provided, in line with Aged Care Standards.
• Promote safety and wellbeing through proper use of equipment, and adherence to OH&S and infection control protocols.
• Engage effectively and maturely with clients, team members, family members, visitors, and other colleagues to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality care.

Who We’re Looking For

The successful applicant will be a compassionate, qualified, and experienced carer with:

• A recognised qualification in Aged Care (Cert III or IV in Ageing Support) as well as a Cert IV in Leisure & Lifestyle.
• Previous experience working in aged care and a strong understanding of client needs.
• A valid and unrestricted driver's licence, and ability to confidently and competently drive a 12-seater bus.
• Great interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a small team.
• Good time management, documentation, and communication skills.
• A commitment to upholding privacy, OH&S and infection control practices.
• Reliable access to a mobile phone, internet, and email.
• Up-to-date seasonal influenza vaccinations.
• Ability to respond capably and appropriately in emergency situations.

The successful candidate will be philosophically aligned with Village Baxter’s mission, vision and values, and be able to manage in a dynamic work environment. We are particularly interested in from candidates who have availability to cover planned and unplanned leave on other days of the week, including Saturdays. Note that our Day Centre does not provide services on Sundays, Public Holidays, or between Christmas and New Year.
