Resource Definition Geologist

Work Location: Fortescue’s Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi peoples.

Roster: FULL-TIME, 8D/6R – FIFO ex Perth

Fortescue is seeking a full-time RC Rig Geologist to join the Resource Definition team at Solomon.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to build on their existing skill sets and expand their operational knowledge in a dynamic, hands-on environment.

As part of the team, you will play a key role in analysing geological data and supporting resource definition efforts, contributing directly to exploration and development projects. Key Responsibilities

Provide leadership and be a role model for safetyDaily supervision of RC drill rigHigh quality stratigraphy, downhole gamma, and texture logging of RC chipsAssay and geological data management, internal QAQC, data collection/validationEnsuring high sample quality on the rigsRationalisation and progression of near mine exploration targets

Qualifications And Experience

Tertiary degree in GeoscienceFull C class, manual drivers licenceOperate and maintain a 4WDExposure to Arc GIS, Leapfrog, VulcanProvide First Aid
