About Freedom Solutions
Freedom Solutions Australia operates across NSW and Victoria. It is a volunteer-based, not for profit organisation providing assistive technology solutions and occupational therapy services for people living with disability and older people. For over 40 years we have been a valued stakeholder in the disability services sector, enabling our clients to achieve their goals through the:
Design and construction of custom assistive technology otherwise commercially unavailable;
Modification of commercially available equipment to suit clients’ individual needs;
Freedom Wheels customised Bike Service; and
Provision of specialised technical advice to clients.
Our Purpose
Freedom Solutions changes the lives of people living with a disability by providing personalised technology, equipment and services.
Position Purpose
The purpose of this role is to deliver organisation wide fundraising initiatives including corporate partnerships, community fundraising programs, fundraising events, donor appeals and donor acquisition. The Fundraising Coordinator will be tasked with generating income streams to support the organisation’s operations and projects.
The position requires a strong understanding of the not‑for‑profit operating environment.
Key accountabilities
Strategic Fundraising
· Develop a Fundraising Strategy for the organisation with a diversified income approach.
· Deliver the Operational Fundraising Plan with collaboration from the Grants team and Marketing.
· Report monthly to the CEO / Board on Fundraising campaign performance, donor engagement and fundraising outcomes
· Ensure compliance with relevant government legislation and industry guidelines
· Fundraising Activities (as designed through the Fundraising Strategy) including but not limited to:
Partnerships
· Research partnerships with values-aligned corporate organisations, philanthropists and foundations, collaboratively working with the Grants team for a healthy pipeline to approach and convert into supporters.
· Represent the organisation at functions and events as required.
· Build and execute a corporate partnership and sponsorship program that delivers increased funding, community engagement, and organisational impact delivering an exceptional experience from first enquiry through to ongoing stewardship.
· Identify and develop relevant community partnerships for the organisation’s fundraising purposes; generate leads, build relationships through media, print, face-to-face, networking, online and other public mediums and grow community connections.
· Develop and conduct fundraising events for the organisation, including but not limited to peer-to-peer community based events.
Marketing
· Collaborate with the Marketing and Engagement Manager to develop and implement targeted fundraising campaigns and activities, including print and social media collateral, audiovisual content, presentations, and fundraising platform initiatives, to achieve donor, corporate, peer-to-peer, and community fundraising targets.
Campaigns
· Oversee the implementation of organisation Direct Mail and eDM fundraising campaigns (eg Tax Appeal and Christmas Appeal)
· Design and deliver Donor Acquisition campaigns
· Develop the organisation’s Major Donor Program
· Manage the organisation’s Workplace Giving Program
· Manage the organisation’s Bequest Program
· Coordinate campaign logistics, including fundraising kits, collateral updates and supporter communications
Operational Support
· Provide operational oversight for all fundraising activities including managing the community fundraising calendar, registers and day‑to‑day coordination
· Assist in the preparation of partnership submissions, reports, and publications.
· Contribute to the achievement of fundraising goals within budget and specified timeframes.
Donor Data Management
· Oversee donor information management through the CRM
· Ensure records are kept up to date and accurate and that information is reliable.
· Produce reports and statistics relating to the performance of fundraising events and partnerships.
Quality, Health, and Safety
· Follow quality assurance and Work Health Safety practices.
· Support and maintain internal systems that improve safety, quality, and compliance.
Other
· Assist with Fundraising and grant related projects as required.
Qualifications and experience
Essential
· Demonstrated fundraising experience, with proven success in developing fundraising income diversification
· Excellent program reporting and analytical abilities, with relevant fundraising context
· Thorough knowledge of fundraising legislation, practices and philosophy of charitable giving
Desirable
· Experience working in a small, agile organisation
· Excellent verbal and written communication abilities including confidence presenting to new audiences.
· Confidence in using CRM databases, in particular Salesforce
· Experience working in a health/disability and/or Not for Profit environment
· Experience leading or working with volunteers
· Experience leading teams with empathy, clarity and accountability
· A proactive, adaptable and collaborative approach, with a genuine passion for healthcare philanthropy and community impact
Other relevant Information
· Comply with FSA policies, procedures, organisational goals and values. Work in a manner that is without risk to self, other employees, visitors, contractor, general public and volunteers
· All staff are required to complete a Working with Children's Check and a NDIS Screening Check prior to commencing employment.
· The position will be located at the FSA office in Northmead, NSW with onsite parking available.
