Unleashing Unlimited Potential

Every child deserves the chance to explore their potential, find joy, and build a hopeful future. However, many of the children we support have been denied these opportunities due to economic hardship, family instability, trauma or social isolation.

At The Portsea Camp, we’re rewriting their stories. Through structured, evidence-informed programs that go far beyond recreation, we empower children with confidence, resilience and real-world life skills. Our goal is not just to give them a week of happiness, but to create experiences that can positively influence the trajectory of their lives.

Rooted in a proud legacy dating back to the 1940s, The Portsea Camp today is a thriving community of staff, volunteers and young people from across metropolitan and regional Victoria. Each year, we support thousands of children and young people through programs centred on connection, wellbeing, outdoor adventure and trauma-informed care.

Set on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula, our team works together with a shared purpose: helping children and young people grow into healthier, happier and more confident versions of themselves.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Our Kitchenhands play a big part in bringing the camp experience to life for our campers. You will help with meal preparation and meal clean up.

The Portsea Camp is a busy but fun work environment. We are currently recruiting for casual positions available to work mornings, days and/or evenings. No late nights. Rarely we will need help on weekends, with the majority of your roster being weekdays/evenings; what a treat!

You'll have a cheery demeanour to fit in with the camp atmosphere, and a willingness to work hard when on shift in order to keep the camp experience awesome for our campers, but rest assured that our culture and purpose makes every effort a pleasure.

Besides these things, no experience is necessary. All we need from you is a Working With Children's Check, a Police Check, and a big smile.
