Disability Support Worker

Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Worker to provide assistance and support to individuals with disabilities.A disability support worker plays a pivotal role in delivering compassionate care, assistance, and support to individuals living with disabilities. Their objective is to empower individuals with disabilities, fostering increased independence, enhancing their overall quality of life, and promoting active engagement within their communities.

Responsibilities:

• Assist clients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to clients
• Help clients with mobility and transportation needs
• Administer prescribed medication and accurately monitor clients’ health conditions.
• Assist with meal preparation and household tasks
• Develop and implement individualized care plans
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure the best possible care for clients
• Maintain accurate records and documentation

Qualifications:

• Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, or a Diploma in Community Services is advantageous.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check (NDISWC), or an approved interim arrangement.
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module — “Quality, Safety and You”.
• Infection control training — “Supporting People to Stay Infection Free” module.
• First Aid (HLTAID011) including CPR (HLTAID009).
• Working with Children Check
• 100 points of identification (e.g., passport, driver’s licence).
• Demonstrated experience in supporting individuals with diverse disability needs.
• Understanding of person-centred care principles and practice.
• Demonstrated experience in supporting individuals with diverse disability needs.
• Understanding of person-centred care principles and practice.
• Evidence of right to work in Australia.
