Position: Underground Lithium Mine Engineer

Our client is a leading mining company specialising in the  production of lithium, a critical element in the development of renewable energy technologies. 

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced  Senior Underground Lithium Mine Engineer to join our clients team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of underground mining operations, including planning, design, and implementation. This is a challenging and dynamic role that requires a strong understanding of mining principles, safety protocols, and project management.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Develop and implement mine plans, schedules, and budgets for underground lithium mining operations 
• Conduct geological and geotechnical assessments to determine the most efficient and safe methods of mining  
• Monitor and analyse production data to identify opportunities for improvement and cost reduction 
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies - Collaborate with other departments to optimise production and minimize downtime 
• Manage and lead a team of miners, technicians, and contractors to achieve production targets - Conduct regular inspections of equipment and infrastructure to identify maintenance needs and ensure efficient operations 
• Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including government agencies, local communities, and suppliers 
• Prepare and present reports to management on operational performance, safety, and environmental impact
  

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in underground mining operations, preferably in lithium mining 
• Strong understanding of mining principles, methods, and equipment 
• Proficient with Deswik
• Excellent project management and leadership skills 
• Knowledge of safety regulations and protocols in underground mining 
• Ability to work in a remote and challenging environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
• Willingness to travel as needed
