About the Role 

As an Asset Protection Officer, you will play a key role in protecting Council assets and maintaining the amenity of the municipality. You will work closely with builders, contractors, landowners and the community to educate, monitor and enforce compliance with Asset Protection and Building Site Compliance requirements.

This opportunity combines site inspections, stakeholder engagement, investigation and enforcement activities, delivering positive outcomes for our community while safeguarding valuable public infrastructure.

What You’ll deliver 

• Conduct inspections of building sites and Council assets before, during and after construction activities.
• Investigate and resolve breaches relating to Asset Protection permits, Building Site Compliance and relevant Local Laws.
• Provide professional advice and education to builders, contractors, owner-builders and residents regarding compliance obligations.
• Issue notices and infringement actions where required, while maintaining accurate records and evidence.
• Collaborate across Council teams to protect public assets and deliver high-quality outcomes for the Casey community.

What You’ll Bring 

• Certificate IV in Local Government Statutory Investigation and Enforcement, or relevant investigation experience.
• Experience interpreting and applying legislation, Local Laws, policies and procedures.
• Strong investigation, conflict resolution and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to manage inspections, customer requests and compliance activities across a diverse municipality.
• Current Victorian Driver Licence.
• Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check, Eligibility to Work check and Functional Assessment (Medical/physio).
