Extension Officer - Victoria

Greenlife Industry Australia is seeking a passionate and proactive Extension Officer to support the growth, sustainability and biosecurity of Victoria's nursery and greenlife industries.

This exciting role is ideally suited to someone with a strong background in nursery production or horticulture who enjoys working directly with growers, building relationships, and helping businesses adopt best-practice production systems. Working under the direction of the National Biosecurity Manager, you will provide technical support and extension services to production nurseries and promoting industry-leading programs NIASA, EcoHort and BioSecure HACCP.

We are looking for a motivated professional with a tertiary qualification in horticulture, agriculture or a related discipline (nursery production experience will also be considered), coupled with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience in extension, technical advisory, account management, customer service, sales, or business development will be highly regarded also, as success in this role relies on your ability to engage growers, build trust, influence practice change and encourage industry participation.

The position is predominantly field-based, with four days per week spent visiting nursery businesses across Victoria and one day working from home. You will enjoy a high degree of autonomy while making a tangible contribution to sustainable plant production, plant protection and national biosecurity outcomes.
