About the Role:
Join Townsville City Council's Legal Services team and play a key role in supporting the delivery of services and projects that make a real difference to the community. Reporting to the Legal Counsel, you will provide practical, high-quality legal advice across a broad range of areas that support Council's operations, helping teams navigate challenges, manage risk, and achieve positive outcomes for Townsville.
This is an exciting opportunity for a legal professional who enjoys variety, collaboration, and meaningful work. You'll work closely with stakeholders across the organisation, contributing to everything from major projects and commercial matters to regulatory and operational issues. Whether you are building on your legal experience or bringing established expertise, you'll be part of a supportive team committed to delivering value for the community while fostering professional growth and development.
About you:
You are a qualified legal professional with a degree in Law and admission, or eligibility for immediate admission, as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland. With experience in legal research, preparing legal advice and opinions, and an understanding of court processes, you bring strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills. You are committed to workplace safety, able to manage multiple priorities, and confident working collaboratively to deliver practical legal solutions and positive outcomes. A current Queensland "C" Class Driver Licence is required.
