About the role
Packer Leather, Australia’s leading manufacturer of leather and a sixth generation family business, is looking for a Laboratory Technician.
This position is based in Narangba, on the Northside of Brisbane, working Monday to Friday. There may be some variation to the set hours to fit in with production requirements.
The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our team. Reporting to the Technical Director, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the production of high-quality products by conducting thorough product testing.
Your responsibilities will be leather and general laboratory testing, ensuring that all products consistently meet specifications. Other responsibilities include data entry, field sampling for site environmental testing, and managing internal and external testing for product compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct product testing and provide input to uphold quality standards during the production process.
Manage and maintain laboratory and testing equipment to guarantee accurate, precise, and relevant results.
Collaborate effectively with Production, Technical and Sales teams to ensure products are manufactured to specification.
About You
We are looking for a committed, energetic, and proactive individual with excellent communication skills, clear thinking, and the ability to work independently within a team-oriented environment. Key attributes include:
Previous experience working in a physical or chemical testing laboratory.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Effective prioritisation and organisational skills.
A proactive mindset with a passion for challenges.
Meticulous record-keeping and attention to detail.
Ability to work unsupervised while maintaining high standards.
Tertiary qualification in Science is desirable but not required.
