Secondary Materials Design Technology (Wood & Metal) Teacher.  

Fixed Term Full-time, Semester 1 2027

Key Responsibilities:

Are you a passionate, innovative Materials Design Technology (Wood & Metal) teacher ready to make a real impact? We are seeking an exceptional and engaging Secondary MDT teacher to cover a period of long service leave. Be part of a thriving school consistently recognised for excellent ATAR results, a range of VET and Certificate courses, stunning student Materials Design Technology creations and a focus on guiding students to reach their full potential.

Duties:

• Plan and deliver MDT lessons to Secondary students, creating a stimulating and supportive classroom environment.
• Prepare and implement effective assessments to track and report on student progress.
• Differentiate lessons to meet the diverse needs of our students, ensuring all learners and genders are supported, encouraged and challenged in the workshop.
• Actively support the after-school workshop programs on offer for Boarding and Day students and staff.
• Communicate effectively with parents, guardians and colleagues regarding student progress.

Essential Requirements:

• Current registration with the WA Teachers Registration Board
• Knowledge and experience of the WA MDT (Wood & Metal) Curriculum.
• Ability to teach MDT General Courses.

Desirable Requirements:

• Experience teaching MDT at Secondary levels.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Evidence of providing a differentiated curriculum.
• Willingness to contribute to wider school programs, including co-curricular, camps or other school-based activities.

Relevant qualification and experiences will be accepted.  Applicants will also need a valid Working with Children card (or willingness to obtain one).
