Registered Nurse Grade 5 | Intensive Care Unit | Mackay

Troocoo Healthcare is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse Grade 5 for an exciting short-term placement within the Intensive Care Unit at Mackay, QLD.

The Opportunity

• Position: Registered Nurse Grade 5
• Unit: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Location: Mackay, QLD
• Contract: ASAP – 13 September 2026
• Working hours: Rotating 8 and 12-hour shifts, as per roster

Essential Experience To be considered, candidates must have:

• Minimum 3 years' recent ICU experience
• Current AHPRA registration
• Must be competent and confident in mobilising a ventilated patient
• Ability to work rotating 8 and 12-hour shifts

Mandatory Competencies Candidates must hold/currently demonstrate:

• Advanced Life Support (ALS)
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Manual and patient handling
• Infection control and hand hygiene
• Mandatory reporting of suspected child abuse and neglect
• Occupational Violence Prevention Training, including de-escalation and situational awareness
• Medication management, including QPHS requirements

Desirable Experience Experience with the following will be highly regarded:

• ieMR
• MetaVision
• Previous experience within Queensland Health
• Previous experience within Mackay HHS
• Previous nursing experience in Australia
