We are seeking a Group Admissions Support Officer to Provide high-quality customer service to assist patients with online admissions, process patient registrations, confirm eligibility of adequate health cover and provide informed financial consent, as well as work closely with hospitals to ensure process are completed in a timely manner prior to the patient’s admission.
The role is offered on a permanent, part-time basis, working 24 hours per week.
Key responsibilities
Provide exceptional customer service and support to patients accessing online admissions, registrations and pre-admission services.
Assist patients with online admissions, informed financial consents and general enquiries via phone and email.
Manage inbound and outbound communications, resolving patient queries, complaints and escalations in a professional and timely manner.
Process patient registrations, demographic updates and pre-admissions accurately within WebPAS and other relevant systems.
Complete private health insurance eligibility checks and informed financial consents, ensuring compliance and financial accuracy.
Liaise with health funds, medical practitioners, hospital caregivers and external stakeholders to resolve enquiries and support patient admissions.
Prepare quotations for uninsured and self-funded patients, and coordinate approvals for Workers Compensation, TAC and other insurers.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining strong relationships with hospitals, clinicians and patients to deliver outstanding service outcomes.
Your skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated experience delivering exceptional customer service and administrative support, ideally within a healthcare environment. You will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build positive relationships with patients, families, medical practitioners and hospital staff while providing compassionate and professional support.
You will be highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities, analyse information, solve problems and make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment. Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and patient administration systems, together with a commitment to accuracy and attention to detail, are essential.
You will also demonstrate empathy, professionalism and flexibility, with the ability to work across a variety of shifts and weekends as required. Previous hospital experience and knowledge of private health insurance, health fund eligibility requirements and healthcare funding arrangements will be highly regarded.

We can offer you
Salary: $71,352 to $80,741 (pro-rata) plus 12% superannuation
Permanent Part Time position, working 24 hours a week.
