Amara Advisory is seeking experienced Traction Linespersons – Overhead Wiring (OHW) for our expanding rail infrastructure works across Western Australia.

We are looking for suitably qualified and experienced linespersons with a strong safety focus and demonstrated capability in the installation, maintenance, repair and replacement of overhead wiring infrastructure.

The Opportunity

You will work as part of an experienced rail delivery team undertaking construction, maintenance and upgrade activities across critical overhead traction infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, repair and replace OHW equipment and infrastructure

• Undertake installation and maintenance of overhead contact and catenary systems

• Perform tensioning, registration, measurement and adjustment of overhead wiring

• Install and maintain associated support structures, fittings and equipment

• Work safely at heights using EWPs and Road Rail vehicles

• Plan and undertake HV switching and permit activities where appropriately authorised

• Undertake planned maintenance, shutdown and rail possession works

• Assist with fault finding, inspections and corrective maintenance

• Perform Pole Top and EWP rescue requirements

• Work safely within operational rail corridors

• Complete required work orders and project documentation

• Ensure all activities comply with rail safety, WHS and project requirements

• Work day and night shifts as required

About You

To be considered, you will need:

• Previous experience as a Traction Linesperson / Traction Linesman or similar OHW role

• Certificate III in Traction Linesman OR Certificate III in Distribution Linesman

• Current High-Risk Work Licence – DG, WP, LF and RB

• Current driver’s licence and HR licence

• HV Switching ticket

• First Aid + LV Rescue – training or refresher can be provided where required

• Ability to operate Road Rail (EWP) vehicles

• Pole Top Rescue and EWP Rescue competencies

• EWP Controlled Descent Escape competency

• Ability to obtain a Category 1 Safety Critical Rail Worker Health Assessment

• Demonstrated experience in the installation, repair, replacement and maintenance of OHW equipment

• Ability to work day/night shifts, weekends and planned rail possessions as required
